This trek reaches altitudes above 5,000 meters (16,400 feet), and altitude sickness is a concern. To reduce the risk of altitude sickness, ascend gradually, drink plenty of water, and take regular rest days. Symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and nausea can occur, so always listen to your body and prioritize acclimatization.
Trek Plan For Perfect Weather and Views
The best time for the Everest Base Camp trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November) seasons, when the weather is stable, and the mountain views are clear. Temperatures range from 25°C to -6°C depending on altitude, making it ideal for trekking. The months of October and November are especially popular due to the clear skies and festive season in Nepal.
Altitude Sickness Concerns
Everest High Passes is a high-altitude challenge trekkers are at risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) due to the rapid gain in elevation, but proper acclimatization, hydration 3-4 liters of water daily, and a well-paced itinerary can significantly reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Listen to your body and take AMS symptoms seriously. Avoid alcohol and smoking, these can dehydrate and reduce oxygen levels in the blood.
Common altitude sickness symptoms are headache ,nausea or dizziness, loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping, shortness of breath with exertion. Eat high-energy foods such as carbohydrates help with oxygen metabolism at high altitudes. Any question related to health very important, first share with your Group Leader as he/she is the right person in charge with all the knowledge and First-Aid experience for any mountain ailments.
