Trip Overview

The Tsum Valley and Ganesh Himal trek offers an unparalleled trekking experience that combines adventure, cultural immersion, and breathtaking natural beauty with the added Ganesh Himal Base Camp side trip. Nestled in the remote noth west corner of Nepal, the Tsum Valley remains one of the most untouched regions, offering trekkers a serene, off-the-beaten-path experience, away from the crowds of more popular trekking circuits like the Annapurna or Everest Base Camp. In this 17 day we explore the Tsum Valley with  less crowded and isolated Ganesh Himal mountain perfect for those seeking both spiritual and natural beauty in Nepal's rugged heartland.

What is the Tsum Valley & Ganesh Himal Trek Like?

The Tsum Valley trek is a spiritual journey through one of the most remote regions of Nepal. Steeped in Tibetan Buddhism, the valley is dotted with ancient monasteries, stupas, and prayer flags, creating an atmosphere of peace and spiritual richness. As you make your way through this untouched region, you'll witness Tibetan culture and the natural beauty of the Ganesh Himal mountain range. Trekking through lush forests, remote villages, and rugged landscapes, this route offers stunning views of the Ganesh Himal peaks, along with the Sringi Himal and Manaslu ranges.

Trek distance: Over the course of the 17 days, you'll cover approximately 160-180 km. Each day involves a mix of steep ascents and descents as you venture deeper into the valley and cross various altitudes, with the highest point being around 4200 m/ 13,780 ft at Ganesh Himal Base Camp and second on the trek is 3,700 meters at Mu Gompa.

Daily walking hours: Expect 6-8 hours of trekking per day, often involving challenging terrain and crossing several suspension bridges.

Who Can Take the Tsum Valley & Ganesh Himal Trek?

The Tsum Valley & Ganesh Himal trek is a moderately difficult trek suited for trekkers with good fitness and a taste for adventure.
